Exfoliating: Why It’s So Important
Posted by Nat Royal on
Cleansing and moisturising your skin is very important, but it’s simply not enough. If you add just one more product into your routine, we highly recommend a good exfoliator.
You may think exfoliators are overrated, until you start using one on a regular basis and see the wonderful improvements in your skin.
Our skin is constantly producing new skin cells, this is called cell turnover. Most of the time, our bodies are able to naturally shed the majority of these cells, but without a little help, they can soon start to build-up, clogging the pores and leading to anything from dry, dull skin to frustrating breakouts.
Here’s a few of our favourite ways exfoliation can help your skin after just one use!
Combats Dry, Flaky Skin
Once you exfoliate away dry, old skin cells that are simply sitting on top of your skin, causing your complexion to look quite dull, you make way for new growth to shine through and the result is beautiful, glowing radiant skin that is silky soft to the touch.
Your skin will not only feel softer, all those dry flakes will be gone, meaning no more dry skin. Follow up with a good moisturiser and revel in your new skin!
Boosts Blood Circulation
By massaging an exfoliator into your skin, you help to stimulate blood circulation. This means more blood flows to the surface of the skin, resulting in a healthy flushed glow.
Improved blood circulation also stimulates collagen production, meaning you can enjoy more youthful skin with regular exfoliation.
Often those annoying breakouts are simply a result of clogged pores, which can easily be remedied by exfoliating the skin. Exfoliation will help to remove old skin cells efficiently out of your pores, so that your pores can breathe again, and you can say adios to blemishes for good!
Allows For Better Absorption Of Products
One of our favourite perks of exfoliation is that it allows our serums and other holy grail products to sink deep into the pores and work their magic, rather than simply sitting on top of the skin.
If you aren’t exfoliating at least once a week, then using an excellent serum will be useless, as the build up of skin cells will prevent your serum and oils from penetrating the pores.
No matter what your skin type, try our Smooth Skin Exfoliant with Organic Jojoba, Pomegranate & Natural Cellulose Beads to efficiently exfoliate while providing hydration, and being gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin.
